1. That will hurt your case not help it. Rove will have won.
The reason there is no PO, is because the 2008 election was also a fraud.
There should have been more (real) democrats elected, and there would have been enough votes to pass the PO.
But with the likes of Joe Scum, it could not happen ---- unless you are advocating the overthrow of democratic process.

2. How silly.
It would be a better idea to go visit the folks at http://www.progressivepunch.org and see how your incumbent has done on the health care issue.

I can't see throwing men like Grayson and Weiner out of office in a snit just because they're incumbents, they've fought very hard for us.

Likewise, others have fought very hard on this issue and if you don't educate yourself and everyone else about them, then you're just being lazy, short sighted and self defeating.

12. Warpy, I agree 100%
Reagan was elected governor of California and then president of the U.S. because of people who insisted on only voting for someone who thought exactly like them.

The same was true in 2000 when purists refused to vote for Gore because he was too corporist.

The least the purists could do is send money to Grayson, who has introduced the medicare buy-in bill.

26. this is a good site
makes me hate Blagojevich all the more- because of him, we're going to lose the most progressive Senator in the country after only a small part of a term.

Roland Burris' numbers :

Lifetime progressive score: 99.37
Rank: 1/100

His lowest score by topic is 95.45 in Fair Taxation.

34. That argument no longer works
We get the same thing from the Democrats as we have from the GOP. It doesn't really matter which of the Corporate Parties are in charge.

I thought 2008 was the beginning of a new progressive era. I was deluded.

Fool me once.....shame on you. Fool me twice....

38. no, we DON'T get the same
has Obama STARTED 2 illegal wars?

has Obama recklessly LOWERED taxes on the wealthiest americans while publically stating that "deficits don't matter"?

has Obama appointed unqualified right wing idealogues to the bench or to head major federal agencies?

has Obama laughed and gone on vacation when a natural disaster strikes?

i'll concede that when Dems are in power, things don't get better, they just get less worse. but when the GOP is in power, things get much worse quickly. liberal disillusionment is EXACTLY the GOP strategy. this is what THEY want you to feel. don't pout and take your ball home at the end of the 1st quarter because the other side is playing stingy defense at the start.

a presidency is 8 YEARS - 2 whole football games. buck up!

49. I've asked this question several times on this board, and never got an answer..
So, I'll ask again --

During the Bush/Cheney Reign of Terror many on this board, including myself, ridiculed the Republicans for marching in lock-step with Bush and supporting him, no matter what. I and others said things like, "If he roasted a baby on the WH lawn..." and then asserted that the Repubs would NEVER turn against him.

So, where would anyone here draw that line? If there are NO circumstances under which Obama wouldn't deserve our support, then how does that make us any different than the Repubs?

35. Why is it that important?
This bill expands medicaid, and maybe some of the energy that was lost with the public option will go to a medicare buy in.

Democrats will add millions to public plans with expansions to medicaid & SCHIP. If they get a medicare buy in it'll expand even more.
