My email to Barack Obama's Organizing for America
Hello
I have been watching this HC debate for the last year. I get these emails from you about President Obama. I have both contributed to his campaign and to the DNC and I have gone out door to door to help him get elected. I do appreciate the fact that he did bring HC to the forefront However, If the Democrats can not get it together and pass a HC with the public option I want to be removed from any further mailing from the President and you can count on me not to never vote for nor contribute nor volunteer my service in the future. I believe this is so important to have a competition in HC. I watched in tears yesterday hearing an 11 year old boy talk about his mom passing and him continuing her cause for HC. Many people such as myself want HC with a public Option. The President said in his remarks last year he seeks a Public Option. So I hope I made my point clear. I will join millions of other like minded Americans that demand a HC with a public option and if it does not happen then please take me off your emailing.

1. Good for you. The President said to hold him accountable and you are doing it.

3. I did the same
only I was not as nice about it. I brought up legal immunity for the torturers, the telecoms, fisa vote, rick warren, waffling on dadt and said this administration is a dismal follow up to the amBushCo years. Count me out and choke on the corporate donations and k m a.

4. While you're at it, you should write to every congresscritter that
is opposing it; they're the ones who will vote this in or out, and at the moment, it's not looking good.

and after that a public option

it is obvious that options established by OPM that will control not only the MLR, the price and the profit of a plan, and that has to include atleast one not for profit, is light years ahead of the system we now have.

It is doubtful that you have read the actual Senate bill, or the manager's mark up summary, if you had you would know that this bill will save money, save lives and prevent bancruptcies.

If we had this bill in 1990 then we would not have lost our house due to medical expenses and getting it now will almost certainly save the life of one of our family members.

Your opposition, Dennis Kucinich's opposition has the same impact as Bachman or Beck's.

edited to add Paul Krugman's voice from another thread

"So what’s the reality of the proposed reform? Compared with the Platonic ideal of reform, Obamacare comes up short. If the votes were there, I would much prefer to see Medicare for all.
For a real piece of passable legislation, however, it looks very good. It wouldn’t transform our health care system; in fact, Americans whose jobs come with health coverage would see little effect. But it would make a huge difference to the less fortunate among us, even as it would do more to control costs than anything we’ve done before.

This is a reasonable, responsible plan. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise".

Obviously Krugman has read the legislation and the OP has not.
