My sudden acceleration story.
Edited on Sun Mar-14-10 08:11 AM by Are_grits_groceries
I went to run some errands, and it seemed like a normal day. That should have been my first clue. I pulled into a parking space, and put the car in Park.

I turned to the right and everything was zooming past me as if I was traveling at 100mph. I stood on the brake with both feet, and looked down to make sure I wasn't on the gas pedal. I looked around, and I was till zooming, but I realized I was still in the parking space.

I put my head down on the steering wheel until my heart came back into my body. I have an inner ear infection and I can only surmise that I was suddenly disoriented. I have had no problems before even with the infection. It scared the shit out of me.

I can imagine someone making a mistake, and suddenly compounding it in panic. I don't believe that there aren't problems with some or a lot of the cars, but it is easy to suddenly find yourself in a mess that you may have inadvertently caused.

I am now at home, and after a visit to the doctor have been told I need to have my deviated septum fixed to help stop the problems I have had for a while. HaHa! I don't have health insurance. I am considering breaking my nose. It may make it worse or it may straighten it out. DIY Rethug healthcare is a wonderful thing.

1. Sounds like advice my hubby got from an orthodontist once
Dental insurance wouldn't cover the needed procedure, but the dentist says, "if you get someone to hit you in the mouth with a baseball bat, your health insurance will cover it."

American ingenuity.
