Here's hoping that Russell Feingold prevails in his re-election bid.

A recent poll, said to be a GOP-leaning operation, suggests that former Wisconsin Governor Tommy Thompson leads Feingold in a would-be Senate match-up.

I don't believe the poll is accurate. I hope that Thompson does not run. I hope Feingold wins re-election.

1. Feingold will win.
Read the entire piece. Thompson hasn't even declared and he left the state with a MASSIVE deficit.

Feingold: "As has been widely reported, WPRI is a group with strong Republican ties, most prominently to Tommy Thompson," spokesman Trevor Miller said.

3. Hi, PeaceNikki. Well, I'm certainly rooting for Feingold
but am interested in the timing of the poll.

2. Personally,
I don't think Tommy Boy has the 'little fish in a big pond' ego necessary for the senate. He had problems being in Bush 43's cabinet (HHS) - did a Palin on that after a couple of years. Nope, one of many is not for him. I think his ego is more the 'big fish in a little pond' (governor) than 'little fish in a big pond" (senate).

4. I'm hoping that's the case. Because Thompson does have
serious support in the state.

Also he would be giving up a sizable income if he returned to public service.
