The Vile Plutocrat gathers news about the misdeeds of "the entitled class," mixes in scathing editorial commentary and then links stories to biographies of the purported villains.

"The idea was born out of the Bernie Madoff scandal," Paul Burton of 16 Toads Design told AFP late Saturday at a South By South West Interactive gathering here.

"In a nutshell, we are looking for any kind of news that revolves around people in the upper echelons of society that are doing something that takes money away from the middle class."

Extreme wealth is canonized and heroisized to the point that we allow entitlement to usurp common sense consensus issues like universal health care, educational opportunities, retirement, living wages, legal issues, taxes, fair treatment under the law, and the political process.

Why should any wealthy person care about their contribution to society when they can buy their way out of a lawsuit or jail? Why should they care that the third multimillion dollar home they purchased raised property values so high for their neighbors that they pushed out people who had lived in the same town for decades? Why should they give a damn about the rising cost of education when they can send their children to the best private elementary schools, high schools, and colleges? Why should they pay their fair share of taxes when they have politicians fighting for their rights to hide their wealth in off-shore accounts and foreign tax havens?/....

9. I find it to be kinda strange

For one thing, the Detroit mayor does not seem that plutocratic.

12. Good start - needs a little work

I like that the site lists philanthropists also, such as Rosie O'Donnell and (I think) Brooke Astor.
Ms. Astor's bio semms to be all good, yet she (and O'Donnell) are found on the alphabetized list of vile people.
I would like to see the admin list do-gooders separately.
Got to get that shirt!
