I can imagine a torrent of money poured into "free speech" ads such as we've never seen before. I can see half hour infomercials of hate. I can see sound bite ads running on near endless loops. I can see Club for Growth pulling higher ratings than Dancing with the Stars.

I can see Democrats getting a clock cleaning that would do Big Ben's curator staff proud.

But that's just me.

How about you?

1. agreed, but it might have the opposite effect
I think people get tired of massive advertising campaigns before an election.

that's the only silver lining I got.. otherwise I got nothing.

2. The unions are now free to spend their money
as well. Not just the evil corps. That's the upside.

6. That's one of the biggest right wing lies ever.
If all the union members in all the unions sold everything they own and gave it to their unions and if all those unions gave it to one umbrella fund, they would STILL be uncompetitive with the corporations within hours.

There is no comparison ......

7. It's right wing lie that unions PACS spend a lot money
on elections? AFL-CIO just pulled 3 million away from Blanche Lincoln in Arkansas and gave it to Bill Halter.

For-profit corps own and operate America. I f... appreciate that. But union funds have been freed by this decision as well as bloodsucker funds.

I was an AFSCME member for 30+ years and made payroll deductions to their PAC, so please don't lecture me on unions.

8. Leave your 'tude at the door.
I know unions have PACs and I know they spend money. But they can't begin to compete with corporations for the *amount* of money. And that' alone, was my point.

If you want to *discuss* that, fine. That's why I posted it. If you want to argue about it, find someone else. I ain't playin'.

5. Democrats need to take a strategic gamble and say ''we are the party that will hold corporations
accountable and undo the damage the Supreme Court did with that ruling," and place themselves on the side of the angels.

The problem with saying that is it would not be supported by their actions, and they won't say it anyway, leaving an opening for Republicans to say it even though it is even less true for them.
