http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/03/14/peter-graves-dead-actor-f_n_498528.html

Peter Graves has reportedly been found dead in his Los Angeles area home. The actor was 83.

A source told the Los Angeles Times that he apparently died of natural causes.

Graves stared in "Mission: Impossible" and "Airplane!"

This is a breaking news alert. More information to follow.

2. "FURY! Go get Paw!"
First saw him the 1950s show, FURY - the story of a horse, and the boy who loved him.

23. I loved Fury
…the little boy Joey and the cranky old ranch hand Pete.

Graves was excellent in Stalag 17, though, as the American imposter/informer.

32. Graves's brother was Marshall Dillon of Gunsmoke, I believe.
Edited on Sun Mar-14-10 08:55 PM by TexasObserver
James Arness was his brother, I seem to recall. It's one of those fuzzy memories that may not be true.

Graves played the very cool, silver haired leader of the Mission Impossible team, too.

31. Fury. Sky King. Howdy Doody. Gunga Din. Circus Boy.
Saturday morning viewing was mandatory in the mid to late 1950s.

41. For a while in the 80's they had a nostalgia channel
on TV and My Friend Flicka was just one of them, along with Rin Tin Tin, the Cisco Kid and Leave it to Beaver (which my kids thought was a total hoot and actually loved!)

It would be interesting to see how some of the old morality and story telling stacked up to todays...TV lessons? for childrens programming.

They were good values actually. (another nostalgic smile)
