Aaargh! Can't embed youtube in my Wordpress blog anymore!

I was having no problems just pasting the embed code straight from the youtube onto the blog (required you to disable visual editor). Now I'm trying to do a blog post and nothing shows up in "preview"! When I follow the Wordpress instruction to embed, it tells me to copy the URL from the browser into the "add video" command. That doesn't work. All it does is hot link to the video but doesn't embed it. I've been googling for hours and am at my wit's end. Anyone know?
