Monday Would Be a Good Day to Call the House Members & Tell Them You Want a Public Option
I don't think they have the votes for the HCR bill, yet. Focus on Pelosi and the members of the Progressive Caucus. Tell them if there is no public option in the reconciliation bill we will hold them responsible. If they put it in the reconciliation bill, I believe it will pass the Senate. I don't see the Senators who have said they will vote for it being able to weasel out of it if it's there. I'm not sure why Pelosi is, currently, agreeing to take the fall for it but a little pressure from the public can't hurt.

The Democrats could still stand to win big in November if they pass a bill with huge public support. That bill would be one with a public option. Remember. Only about 35% of the public approves of the mandate. Support for the mandate grows to a national approval of 70% when a public option is added.

Tell them if they won't do it for us, do it for themselves. Passing a popular bill is a win for everyone but the for profit health care industry.

My Congressman is a Republican so not much point in contacting him. But I'll call someone else. Here's a link where you can find contact information on your member of Congress.

7. K & R. I will call Pelosi's office AGAIN.
(They must be sick of me by now).

I will certainly pull back to token-only support of DC Dems in my state if the PO is not passed in some form or another.
