Whoa, John Roberts Asking arne duncan Real Questions on CNN
Asking about the president's relationship with teacher's unions, punitive nature of rttt , Rhode Island ,etc. Of course the asshole doesn't answer one goddamn question. And the CNN "education" contributor is a principal with an attitude, and not a teacher. Next time duncan should be asked what he thinks about the votes that obama and other Democrats will lose and see if he still has that fucking smirk on his face.

1. That would be the CNN that's part of the "Corporatist", union-busting media, right?

2. k & r.
The Obama and school privatization/teacher union issue affects our children's futures. If you are a parent, grandparent, or a teacher it is or it should be a primary issue with you. A public school system is the sign of a healthy nation. School privatization, on the other hand, is a sign of a failed nation. You all better think about this one long and hard.

4. There will be a h eavy price to pay...long term as well as short term, for the loss of a
robust public education system.

I am at a loss to understand how President Obama does not realize this.

7. Didn't President Obama go to a private school?
Ah yes, here is the information (bolding added by me):

http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Where_did_Barack_Obama_go_to_school

Starting at age 6, Obama attended a Catholic school in Indonesia. (...) Starting at age 6, Obama attended a Catholic school in Indonesia. At age 8, he attended a public school in Indonesia, nominally a Muslim school, which is where the "Muslim" tempest in a teapot comes form.

At age 10, he left his mother and Muslim stepfather behind in Indonesia, moving to Honolulu to live with his Mom's parents. His grandmother was a Vice President for the Bank of Hawaii and was able to afford to send him to the prestigious private college preparatory Punahou School, still considered the finest school in Hawaii. He attended there from 5th grade, and graduated from high school there in 1979.

President Obama never attended a single day at a U.S. public school, from elementary through high school. He has no attachment to our public schools. He apparently has no idea how well public schools in this country have served our populace over the years, and how they have been forced to do more with less over the last 30 years. Shame on him.
