Quantum teachers
Edited on Mon Mar-15-10 08:12 AM by Are_grits_groceries

Teachers are now the most important part of educational success AND the first to be cut when budgets are short because they are unimportant. They are waves and particles. They go from one to the other in at the speed of light.

Which is it?

Oh, I have a little exercise I would like to assign: Please list the qualities of a good teacher and then list them for a bad ones. It's hard to keep up with the requirements.

3. Here are some qualities for a good teacher.
Do what you are told.

Don't ask for a raise.

Keep the evolushun talk to a minimum.

Stick to the classics (Atlas Shrugged, the Bible, etc.)

4. Competence, patience, empathy and a nice hard streak...
The list is much longer.

The good ones care though. The little lady told me that one of her 12th graders has gone missing for a few days now and is presumed dead by suicide. It's tearing her up.

5. Excellent point.
A question for a physicist: When a teacher is both a wave and particle, how long before they reach their classical limit?

6. A good teacher

has motivated students in a school with a supportive administration, a high degree of parental involvement, and appropriate class sizes, in a district with ample funding.

A bad teacher has students who test poorly on a standardized test developed without oversight or any assurance that the test is either reliable or a valid measure.

7. So if you put a teacher in a box
With a cyanide capsule and means of breaking it that has 50% probability of breaking it.

Is the cat alive or dead?

9. The Schroedinger's cat paradox
used to drive my students nuts. I always had a good laugh going over that with them.

8. Actually it is Quantum Entanglement..
Edited on Mon Mar-15-10 07:31 PM by Fumesucker
No time at all transpires between the teacher being the most important part of educational success to being cut due to being unimportant.

Spooky action at a distance, indeed!

Edited to add: That sluggard light has nothing on the ability of a politician or pundit to change positions..
