Sonoma's 13-time DUI loser
Prosecutors hate it when judges give repeat DUI offenders a slap on the wrist. So the Sonoma County DA is applauding a 68-month sentence handed down to a man after his 13th drunken-driving conviction.

Robert James Feenan, 50, of Santa Rosa, was arrested Nov. 20 after the car he was driving crashed into another car on Highway 12 at Stony Point Road. The other driver wasn't hurt, but California Highway Patrol officers determined that Feenan's blood-alcohol level was an astronomical 0.44 percent, more than five times the 0.08 percent that constitutes drunken driving, prosecutors said.

Feenan already had 12 DUI convictions, authorities say. His last arrest was June 12, 2008, when his blood-alcohol level was measured at 0.22 percent. He was sentenced to a year in jail plus probation for that incident; prosecutors were seeking a four-year state prison sentence. Feenan completed residential treatment for alcohol addiction a little over five months before his November 2009 arrest.

Judge Elliot Daum of Sonoma County Superior Court, apparently concluding that enough was enough, sentenced Feenan to five years and eight months in state prison for his latest arrest.

3. Needing help is not an excuse for repeatedly choosing to endanger others.
That makes him an ASSHOLE who happens to need help.

9. He does not deserve any more help.
He has been given help -- most of it tax supported I'm sure -- repeatedly. Not another dime should be wasted on him.

10. 0.4 % is the LD 50
LD50 (Lethal Concentration & Time) of a toxic substance or radiation is the dose required to kill half the members of a tested population after a specified test duration.

He apparently represents the other half.
