Reagan billboard goes up in Rep. Bachmann's district: "Remember real hope and change?"
Source: Minneapolis/St. Paul City Pages

Remember real hope and change? That's the message accompanying a big portrait of former President Ronald Reagan on a billboard along I-94 in Albertville.

... Bob Schwartz, at Franklin Outdoor Advertising, confirmed this morning that the company owns the billboard, but for now didn't have any information about who paid for it.

Albertville is part of GOP Rep. Michele Bachmann's 6th Congressional District.

1. Yeah, Iran-Contra, arms for hostages, supply-side economics...
those sure were the days.

Fuck you, Michele Bachmann. I hope Tarryl Clark wipes the floor with your crazy ass in November.

because he shut down psych hospitals.

What no one remembers is that he also gutted HUD and so, affordable housing.

Busy little felon.

12. Seeing as how I was born in 1985 and was only 3 when Reagan left office,
I don't have many tangible memories of his reign of terror.

But I'm sure you're right.

Edited on Mon Mar-15-10 07:46 PM by Hansel
Not too many presidents could do that.

Oh, and because he blamed the poor for the nation's problems? Especially those on welfare--welfare queens or code for Black people?

And he thought ketchup was a vegetable? And he should know.

I'd pay 20 caballeros to see Reagan's corpse gnaw on a Tom Savini made Michael Moore, just for shits and giggles if nothing else! Where's George Romero when we need him!!!

35. I met Ted Kennedy when he was on his search for hunger tour
when Reagan said that there were no people going hungry in the US.

I coordinated the cheese and butter distribution at the social service agency I worked at. It was pretty cool. He was such a gracious man and made me feel like I was the only person in the world when I was introduced to him. I can't remember a thing either one of us said, I was so starstruck. I think he was thanking me for the work I did and I was like, giggle giggle, thank you, giggle giggle.

34. I remember when he was shot.
My boss asked if it was fatal. I said no. He hung his head and seriously said "too bad". I was shocked because he seemed like the type of person who would never say that and because he was so serious.

My boss was the head of a social service agency serving the inner city. We watch this clown, that the right idolized, destroy one family after another with his callous "leadership".

One of the woman I worked with, my boss's secretary, had to quit her job because he ended subsidies for Medicaid for the working poor. She had a son who was quadrupolegic. She sobbed when she found out she could no longer afford to work.

38. Michelle Bachmann broke down sobbing on the MN senate floor
because the senate voted against changing the name of Olson Memorial Highway to Ronald Reagan Memorial Highway. This was, of course, before Reagan was dead and in the only state in the union that did not vote for Ronald Reagan for president ever.

The woman is completely nuts.
