The Funeral of Rep. Juanita Millender-McDonald

I just got home from the services, and if you didn't already know it, she was much loved and respected.
Three military planes flew 235 members of Congress out, including several local Republicans. ( Jerry Lewis R-CA.41 delivered the message from the White House. Normally it'd be the job of the VP, but I doubt Cheney would have felt very comfortable w/ this group)
The majority of the California Legislature and just about every local elected official also attended.

Speaker Pelosi delivered a moving tribute to her former State and Federal colleague, as did many local, state and national officials.

While I'm deeply sadden by her loss, I'm glad to have known and worked w/ her over the years. Our country has been blessed and enriched by her service.
