Freeper critique of Stephanie this a.m...
Who is this clown they have in Imus' old spot on MSNBC?

Posted on 04/30/2007

This person they have on today in his slot is horrible! Forget that host sounds like a total moonbat,it's like they copied Laura Ingram's show except made the format even more obnoxious. There is a news network that has totally lost it's direction and identity. They are becoming the "Pennysaver" newspaper of cable news.

5. Well, I didn't think it was good, either.....
I changed the channel. It was embarrassingly awful.

I don't know her. We don't get her radio show in my area. I think I've seen her as a guest on other shows a couple of times, and she was good. But the show on MSNBC was baaaaaaaad. Maybe she was nervous.

Part of what made Imus so good was that he was...well, Imus. Like him or not, he had that star element that all folks who can carry shows have. Second, it was his guests.

Maybe she'll get better.

It must just be a taste deal, because Steph Miller RULES! She is smart and funny and cute... and her crew, the "mooks" are smart and funny too.

It's meant to be funny. It's not meant to be anything even close to Imus! Which is isn't, cuz Imus sucks hard! And he has for quite some time.

22. Sorry. The ratings are on my side on that one.. He'd increased...
MSNBC's ratings over 35% within the last year. He took share from both CNN and Fox in the morning slot.

I can guarantee that this person would not be able to do that. Even if she gets better.

29. Yes. That's the name of the game for cable programs.
No ratings = no show.

However, IMO, Imus's show was first rate, and that's why the ratings were so good. He had the top politicians of the day in telephone interviews on his show, and he gave them sometimes 20 minutes to talk...something they simply don't get anywhere else.

After that, you hear some really cool, sometimes offbeat music as the show fades into a commercial. A really long clip of music, too.

Then back to the show with, say, three or four songs (not just one), by some name artist...Dwight Yoakum, Willie Nelson, or you name it (usu. country).

It was a quality, first-rate show that was not duplicated anywhere else. And better yet....he referred to Bush and Cheney as war criminals.

Sigh. Those days are gone. Like MSNBC'S morning ratings.

In fact, in popular culture, quite the opposite is usually the rule. Imus was anything but quality.

28. Ratings don't always equal good
Brittany Spears sold a lot of records too.

The right wing hosts usually have a simple advantage. Right wingers wont watch Lefty shows, while an lot of liberals will tune into shows like Imus and others(He is a republican, I know he sometimes bashed Bush, but he hated most liberals except his little circle of friends)

33. You apparently didn't watch the Imus Morning Show....
yes, he was a registered Republican. But he rarely voted Republican. He really was, at heart, an Independent grouchy ol' coot. I watched him regularly...and no, he didn't hate mostly liberals except his little circle of friends. He pretty much hated everyone, except for his family and Charles.

He voted for Kerry. He supported the Independent candidate for TX governor. He was voting for McCain in Republican primary. He hated the Clintons. He hated the Bushes. He was pretty much an equal opportunity hater.

He liked anyone, though, who contributed to his causes. He had Cher interviewed on his show...she contributed a lot of money for special helmits for the troops to help prevent brain injuries.

I'm no lover of the man Imus. But he had a first-rate one of a kind show. Hey, it was just a show. Nothing more, nothing less. And I'll give this Miller gal another shot.

But it's a clue that a couple of people who don't know her thought the show was bad. It seems as though those who have a special feeling for her, or who want strictly a partisan show that gives a specific message, not necessarily entertaining, are the ones who liked the show. She's got to do more than that. She's got to be informative and entertaining. Or people will watch CNN or Fox. It's as simple as that.

35. I ussed to listen all the time
Lets see- Bernard, Fascist pig. Enough said.

Nothing but hatred for the Clintons and Al Gore, and others. I stopped listening to him after mocking Dick Clark and saying he had no business being on his own show after his stroke. Yea he called Buh and Cheney criminals, but when Dick was on his show, he was soft to the point of alomst kissing his ass, and if I recall correctly said he wasn't a bad guy afterward. Also and I know this is a matter of opinion, the music sucked. Even when I did listen to him I turned the radio off when that crap came on.

And if Stephanie Miller is on thing, It is entertaining. Maybe not as many guests as you like, but I for one like to see for once a true Liberal on the mainstream media, even if its only for 3 days.

40. Ratings only mean a bunch of people listen
Ratings don't tell you how "good" a show is. It's like movie box office... some real stinkers get hella box office, while great cinema is rarely a box office hit. Likewise for theatre... Mama Mia! is a huge hit... I could barely sit through it.

Ratings/box-office is no indication of quality.

25. I don't want to "hang in there" and listen for a message at 6 a.m.....
I'm watching a morning show while I'm drinking coffee, walking around, and getting dressed for work. I'm listening...not watching. I wanna hear keen political discussions with prominent politicians and well-known top of their game columnists and such. In between, I wanna hear some cool music when fading to a commercial. Then some banter that I don't really listen to (this is why I guessed I missed much of what people complained about re Imus...I didn't listen much to the banter). What was interesting about Imus was that he had no clear-cut message in politics. He could be FOR something liberal, and equally FOR something conservative. He could be against something liberal, and against something conservative. It was an interesting mix. And I didn't really care what he thought. He said it interesting way, with no holds barred. And he let his guests say anything.

I didn't hear anything like that on the Miller show..the part I listened to. And I sure don't hear that on Fox or CNN. But I guess I'll be watching CNN from here on. Unless she gets a high profile guest on or something.

31. thats funny
I turned Imus off forever over a year ago because all he would do was insult liberals, stroke victims(Dick Clark), and pimp his Ranch cleaning goods and salsa. I couldn't even hear fair political discourse on that joke of a show. Maybe thats why there are more right wing shows on TV. A lot of Democrats would rather hear the same old right wing crap than support a Liberal show. Gog it was her first time broadcasting her show on TV. Dont worry she's done on Wednesday and MSNBC will be back to some more comfortable easy going am right wing TV.

36. Did you see Kerry on his show 2 weeks before he was cancelled?
Kerry and Teresa got to talk nonstop, about anything they wanted, for about 20 minutes. Hardly right wing.

So did Willie Nelson. Hardly right wing.

So did Dwight Yoakum. Hardly right wing.

So did Harold Ford. Hardly right wing.

So did Rick Santorum. Very right wing.

So did John McCain. Very right wing now (used to be sorta right wing)

So did Obama. Hardly right wing.

So did John Edwards. Hardly right wing.

Where else were you gonna hear someone say that Dick Cheney is a yellow bellied war criminal? Where else were you gonna hear that the administration was just a bunch of corrupt pigs? Where else were you gonna hear that Bill Frist was a jerk?

It was refreshing to hear someone say what the public was thinking. Although sometimes I didn't like hearing him say it about something I disagreed. Like he called Clinton "Satan." But I'm not one who HAS to hear just MY views all the time. I can take hearing some opposing views.

All the MSNBC pundits would be on for long periods of phone interviews - David Gregory does an absolutely killer impression of Tom Brokaw. Hilarious. And hardly right wing.

Well, no matter. The show is gone.

Maybe the Miller gal will work out. Maybe she was just nervous on her first day. But it's a hard gig. The morning slot is very difficult.

34. Amen to That
I-mus was over-rated and appealed mostly to juvenile minded idiots. I hear Stephanie on the radio and she is great. Haven't seen her on MSNBC but i think if she just does what she does on the radio she will be fine.

Imus had all the qualities of an ape except cuteness. He was an asshole and I'm glad he's gone. And "Bernie" was a damned skinhead and nobody seemed to notice. I listened to the I-mus show sometimes and tried to figure, "who is this supposed to appeal to?" You've got real politicians and media people wasting time talking to this nasty assed troll of a man. Let him retire to Arizona to his ranch and turn to petrified wood. Or maybe he'll get a show on XM and have 19 listeners. That will give him the same share he had on MSNBC.

And what was he, about 4 four foot 6 and a half?

15. Some other Opinions of RW Nutjobs.
http://insidecable.blogsome.com/2007/04/30/stephanie-miller-on-msnbc/#comments

I didnt see her, but I saw a clip and thought she was great. I posted my opinion here (which you will not see). Guess nobody else agreed.

Imus must be laughing so much he’s in tears. She was terrible and showing the guy blowing into his sound effect devises, you’ve got to be kidding. She has to b a 3 day and out or the network will never survive with such a bias slant parading as news/entertainment.

Comment by Pat — April 30, 2007 @ 5:00 pm

I thought she was awful..She just doesn’t go over good on tv and I don’t want to start my day with her political agenda….Bring back IMUS

Comment by Ellen Sweeney — April 30, 2007 @ 5:02 pm

thought it was absolutely awful, much worse than last week, which was bad….turned it off!

Comment by cas — April 30, 2007 @ 5:19 pm

I flipped back and forth throughout the show and all she did was bash conservatives and republicans. Though there’s certainly nothing wrong with bashing politicos and media figures, that is the only thing that she did. The entire format of the show was taking shots, one after the other. Not knowing what to expect, I was truly surprised at shallowness of the her program.

Comment by Objective Analyst — April 30, 2007 @ 5:23 pm

Ten minutes is all I could take. Awful, absolutely awful!

Comment by Anne B. — April 30, 2007 @ 5:27 pm

A VERY different show than Imus, just in the way it’s executed. She seemed nervous and relies too heavy on sound drops.

Comment by Glen — April 30, 2007 @ 5:28 pm

I could not handle her either. I am tierd of all the Bush Bashing, republican bashing etc. Like Rodney King said “Can’t we all get along”. If she stays which is the MSNBC choice, I hope they put a disclaimer up of “Being Fair and Balance” as you know what I mean. Lets here some real news and some interesting stories……..
