Who's paying for Michele Bachmann's $668.5 million dollar bridge?
Edited on Tue Mar-16-10 11:34 AM by Joanne98
Calling the St. Croix River bridge project "the longest-running unfinished bridge project in the history of the United States government," U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann said Monday that she would be asking Congress to tackle the long-standing dispute.

Bachmann, R-Minn., said she is working on a bill to have the area south of Stillwater — where the bridge would be built — removed from the protection of the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act.

The 6th District congresswoman said she thought that would be "the quickest possible solution."

U.S. District Chief Judge Michael Davis ruled Thursday in favor of the Sierra Club in its lawsuit to prevent construction of the bridge. In a 93-page decision, Davis found that the National Park Service's approval of the bridge plans violated federal law.

Bachmann said her legislation, if passed, would render Davis' ruling irrelevant. She said she plans to introduce it later this week.

"We've had enough of the lawsuits and enough of the legal loopholes the Sierra Club is using to stop progress on building this vital transportation corridor," Bachmann said at a news conference in downtown Stillwater.

"We're taking steps to stop the nonsense of these lawsuits and activist judges," she said.

Since Michele Bachmann has lived most of her life on welfare, collecting fostercare checks and farm subsides, I think it safe to assume this is an EARMARK!

Bush even wrote an executive order covering it. OUTRAGE! WE DO NOT HAVE TO PAY TAXES TO MICHELE BACHMANN'S ILLEGAL WELFARE PROJECT!

Sept. 18, 2002: President Bush issued Executive Order 13274 to enhance environmental stewardship and streamline environmental review of transportation infrastructure projects. The St. Croix River Crossing project was added as one of the 7 projects nationwide covered by this Executive Order.

5. Bachmann and Palin both have that runaway bride look.
The wild-eyed manic look. Perhaps they're related.

Off topic, I know.
