The display ad does not close when I click 'close.'
This means that I can't get to the first few posts.

4. Sorry. I have donated inthe past; but this nonsense makes me not want to donate.
A pop-up that won't leave the page discourages any positive thoughts about the site.

3. Try Firefox, then get the add-ons, AdBlock and NoScript, and learn how to use them.
I've never seen an ad on DU and I can also eliminate any images, or avatars that I don't want to see everytime I'm on DU. No dogs, or cats, or glaring faces.
