Republicans misquoting the Constitution ...AGAIN....
I watched the House on CSPAN today for as long as I could stomach listening to Repubs make the same arguements over and over and over and not cite one actual fact. (Fact: n. something unheard of by some Republicans, and ignored by the rest)

1. American have said OVERWHELMINGLY that they dont want (pick one ... or more) a) healthcare reform, b) this bill, c)government run healthcare d) to give up their God given right to be ignored, mistreated, misdirected, overcharged, abused, and generally pissed on by Health Insurance Corporations.

2. This will trample on the Constitution of the United States of America, and that the Constitution calls for the Yeas and Nays. Bachman even wants to invoke nullification over this claim.

In point of fact, however, Americans have been split fairly evenly on the subject, until they are asked questions with fairly represent what is actually in the bill, in which case they favor the bill. Additionally, the Constitution only mentions Yeas and Nays in one place, Article II, Section 5:

...Each House may determine the Rules of its Proceedings, ...

Each House shall keep a Journal of its Proceedings, and from time to time publish the same, excepting such Parts as may in their Judgment require Secrecy; and the Yeas and Nays of the Members of either House on any question shall, at the Desire of one fifth of those Present, be entered on the Journal.

3. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

1. These Republicans have apparently never seen the Constitution
So they think what is in it is what they would like it to say.

3. The Constitution is something to be invoked
only when convenient.

Why they did not stand to actually defend it when it was actually under attack during the Bush years.

Today's republicans are NOT knowledgeable in US traditions and laws. In fact they despise them. But the reality is that neither are Democrats. In general Politicos only pay lip service when convenient.

That said, this bill does not violate the law of the land, but mark my words, it WILL go before the USSC... and don't count on the current Court not throwing it out.

6. What I can't understand is this--
the republicans have used the procedure the democrats are going to use to pass the bill with no votes 36 times. But NOW that the democrats want to do it, it is shredding the constitution. And Bachmann doesn't know her a** from a tree stump how can she tell any body what to do. she is dumber than Sarah Palin and boy howdy that's saying something.

7. Of course they misquote it ..
To them it is a document of no importance to be used when it is convenient for them and ignored the rest of the time.
