What would you do with the District of Columbia?

I'm curious to see where DU stands on this issue currently.

Disclaimer - I realize that some of these options might require an amendment, not merely a congressional vote.

1. Make it a state - and allow the State of DC to tax the fed govt as a business.

The demographics of DC are changing. I think it will remaing a Democratic stronghold, but very possibly not at the levels of today.

..built our capital in a swamp. It is murderously hot and muggy in summer...it is freezing cold in winter.

OTOH, you could simply combine Wyoming with Idaho
