Rush Limbaugh is having a cow...
On my way to work, I turn on talk radio for a few minutes just to see what they are ranting about. Today, Rush Limbaugh was telling his dittoheads that he never gives out phone numbers but today he was making an exception. He gave out two (800) numbers and told his followers to call all the Democrats in Washington to let them know how much they hated this healthcare reform bill. Then he told them to "google" code red and get further directions.

I have never seen the right-wingers so distraught and desperate. It makes me wonder if the healthcare bill might be worth more than we think? If it drives these nuts over the edge, it can't be all bad.

Pathetic showing at today's rally in DC against the HCR bill.

5. NRCC orders 'Project Code Red'
As President Barack Obama prepared to make a statement Wednesday afternoon outlining his desired way forward for health care legislation, the National Republican Congressional Committee geared up to target vulnerable Democrats who were still wavering on the issue.

The committee planned to unveil a new initiative, Project Code Red, in the House GOP Conference's weekly meeting, that's designed to put pressure on lawmakers who are weighing how to proceed on health care.

Project Code Red, anchored at the website www.nrcc.org/codered, will include paid media in targeted districts and a media blitz by Republican doctors serving in the House. In addition to sending physician-Reps. Tom Price (Ga.), Charles Boustany (La.) and Michael Burgess (Texas) to fan out and deliver their party's message on health care, the NRCC also plans to activate the GOP group, Physicians Council for Responsible Reform, which will organize sympathetic doctors to speak out against the Democratic bills.

The committee's offensive isn't just designed to make Democrats who ultimately support health care reform suffer at the polls, an NRCC official told POLITICO, it's also to give some lawmakers second thoughts about voting for a health care bill in the first place.

My repug governor and all the little repugs in the state are all blitzing the media with the "stop health care reform, it will cost us money, means higher taxes, it is bad" yada yada.

6. Where was Rush on Monday?
He was not on the radio?? My bet is that he was having strategy sessions with the Republicans. He came back today spouting all the talking points. I'm beginning to support this healthcare bill more and more...

9. We need a good followup to the Health Care Bill so we can drive all of the
right-wingers so distraught and desperate right over the edge of the cliff. And I and many would love to stand on the edge and shout good riddance. BTW- if Rush had a cow today, I wonder if he lost any weight! LOL

22. Have my doubts Obama will push this in 2010 but it would push wingers over the cliff.
I think he will want to take a deep breath and focus on the economy and save immigration reform for 2011. If he really wanted to go "all in" and whip the wingers into an even greater frenzy (agree that IR will make HCR look like a walk in the park) and see how much damage teabaggers and their allies can do to themselves, it would be a ballsy move. (Heck they had Tancredo as their keynote speaker at their "convention", so you know IR will set them off big time.) :)

14. It is not that good
but here is why Limbaugh and company are freaked.

They KNOW that once it is passed, getting rid of it will be next to impossible.

Muricans rant and rave 'gainst them gub'mint programs, right until they get them gub'mint programs. And then it gets down impossible to get rid of them. You try getting rid of grand ma's social security, even if she rans and raves 'gainst them gub'mint programs...yep met saith granny at a teabagger event.

It gets worst... this sucker, which ain't that good, will be improved.

See Social Security and Medicare for clear cases of this... and for that matter the RNC "mistake" SCHIP.

They know this... and they also know that them Joe Six Pack will not be ranting and raving once he gets onto this gub'mint teat and perhaps even remember that it was them Democrats that did that.

Yes, this is partly in jest, but trust me, there is plenty of reality behind this.

17. I think they always HAVE to act pout-raged at everything Obama does
It's just part of their schtick, IMO. Whether they mean it on any given issue or whether they are secretly high-fiving over it, they would still do the drama-queen ranting, it's become totally meaningless.

18. It's a win-win-win for him. He's just wringing his hands in shadow theater.
If it passes and it shows to be the ineffectual turkey that it seems to be they'll crow of the inefficiencies of big gubmint.

If it passes and actually does good (which I doubt) then they get to point out the success of the private industry and how they worked their way into the paperwork of those socialist democrats.

If it doesn't pass then they get to play the heroes as they "saved us all from Obama care."

Either way...they play "I told you so."

You're talking about a guy whose listeners are proudly among the least informed human beings outside of certain remote villages and have the memories of fruit flies.

21. Yes it can, and it is ...
Conservatives are desperate and distraught over anything that they think involves the government. This is like pretzel logic. You can't say that something might be good because some of the opposition is crazy. The fact that they are crazy speaks for itself. They live in a world of unreality and how can any of their reactions be trusted much less used for guidance?

This bill is a loser and anyone who thinks it isn't is going to have to try and live with it or stay alive in spite of it.

:hi:

And I've often wondered how many members of Congress, let alone the teabaggers, have actually read the bill, or understand it. Those hysterics who talk about "death panels" or Socialism obviously haven't... :eyes:

29. As a female Rep. or Senator said tonight on MSNBC, if the bill is really terrible
you'd think they'd be encouraging Democrats to pass the damned thing so it would drag us all down! It would be the end of life as we knew it. They would take over the very next election.

Maybe someone can remember who said this Tuesday night. It could be Debbie Stabenow.
