Dixie Chicks reunite for tour with Eagles, Keith Urban
Just announced: The Eagles, Dixie Chicks and Keith Urban will be touring together for the first time. They will hit the road on June 8 for a North American tour that kicks off in Toronto.

Even though two of the Chicks - Emily Robison and Martie Maguire - are making their stage debut as a duo at SXSW on Thursday as The Courtyard Hounds, Natalie Maines will be joining them for this tour, meaning The Dixie Chicks will hit the stage for the first time in four years.

American Express card holders will have early access to tickets beginning Monday at 10:00 a.m. and tickets go on sale to the public Monday, March 29, 2010 at 10:00 AM. Check www.LiveNation.com for information and to see which dates will feature Keith Urban (he won't be at all of them).

3. I don't keep up with country-music artists
but is it possible that the Dixie Chicks would have passed into obscurity if not for the controversy, the neocon chickenhawk outrage, and Clear Channel's attempts to torpedo their careers? As I said, I don't know; I don't listen to country music, so I don't keep track of such things, but I do admire their outspokenness and wish them well. It would be ironic, however, if those who sought their demise actually enhanced their popularity.

4. They were doing pretty well when it happened, but the entertainment market is fickle

5. I remember hearing
they were the best selling women artists in history. The reason the whole dust up made such a stink was because of how popular they were.

7. They were at the top of their career when that happened--it's really hard to say.
There's few female bands that were as musically talented, then or now.

8. Try this. You might change your mind about them.

They were outselling everyone at the time of the right attack. Concerts, CD's etc. They are still pissed about it.

10. The Chicks did the unthinkable in Nashville.
They filed a suit against Sony for their rightfully earned money.
In old Nashville, it is expected that you get "screwed" from day one and must earn your keep before you get the big bucks.

9. Since the redneck mob won't listen to them, who will?
the entire Dixie Chicks boycott happened in the run up to the illegal Iraq War confirmed what I always knew about the country establishment.
Let's just say that a tornado taking down Music Row and the Opry would be justice.
