Update: "Kucinich revealed he’d met four times with President Obama, mostly going over his objections, but said he’d been persuaded in part because at one recent meeting he recognized how difficult Obama’s challenge is.

“I left it with a real sense of compassion for our president and what he’s going through,” he said. “We have to be compassionate towards those who are called upon to make decisions for this nation. It’s not an easy burden that he’s taken up.

Kucinich said Obama didn’t make any promises to take up the public option later.

“What he committed to was to continue to work with me on the broad concerns that I have,” he said. “He didn’t make any specific commitment.”"

10. I feel those are separate discussions, frankly.

Especially about the "bus" part. I thank DK for his part, but frankly, I'm still very, very sore over being called a corporatist or worse by other DUers, who invoked his name in their arguments rather often. Yeah, he played a role in that, but he's doing the right thing now, and that's what's important. The referred to DUers have not.

That said, passions do run high because people really care about these issues; we should perhaps take a page from Kucinich's book and respect that we all have trouble moderating our tongue when it comes to issues we genuinely care about.

I never doubted that DK and Bernie and others and us don't all want the same general reforms over time.

We all differ on how best to get there.
