Earlier this evening here in Orlando FL the moon is full and blood red
Edited on Mon Apr-30-07 10:26 PM by whistle
....An omen of ill tidings to come? Perhaps, but for two days Central Florida has been blanketed with smoke coming in from North Florida bog muck fires and an inversion layer of winds from both Florida coasts which have trapped the smoke in a thick haze which acts as a light filter causing the full moon to take on a reddish glow.

<Thanks for pointing out the typing error>

Full Moon names and Their Meanings

• Full Pink Moon - April

This name came from the herb moss pink, or wild ground phlox, which is one of the earliest widespread
flowers of the spring. Other names for this month's celestial body include the Full Sprouting Grass
Moon, the Egg Moon, and among coastal tribes the Full Fish Moon, because this was the time that the
shad swam upstream to spawn.

Red sky at night, sailors delight. Red sky in the morning, sailors warning.
