1. I feel the same way I did on election night 2004..
Kicked in the gut and utterly discouraged..

4. It depends on the person.
People who are discouraged and hurting says and compare the near passing of HCR to Bush winning the WH says a lot about them.

6. Well, I'm celebrating the defeat of the status quo.
Do you understand how difficult that is to do?

7. LOL, which status quo died?
I musta missed that part of the bill.

Before, people couldn't afford health care.

Now, people will be required to fill the wallets of the health insurance executives while STILL being unable to afford actual health CARE.

What did I miss?

8. I think maybe you should read the bill.
Since you still don't have a clue what's in it.

9. You are the one who made a bold assertion
about the death of the status quo.

Given the circumstances I have no idea what you mean by that, so I am asking you to elaborate. If you don't care to do that, then your assertion may as well not have been made.

I'm not going to rehash what's in the bill - I am very familiar with it, I've read parts of the actual bill and plenty of analysis of the bill, and I can tell you that someone barely affording their monthly bills now being forced to spend several thousands of dollars a year on premiums will not be able to afford co-pays. If you deny that this will be the resulting scenario for millions of people if this bill passes, then you clearly have no understanding of what is in the bill yourself.

So now I've explained my point, please, enlighten me on this status quo death. As I said, I must have missed it. It is a bold statement to make.

10. The status quo of private medical insurance just got defeated?
You could have fooled me.

I was under the impression we will now be forced to buy private insurance.

12. Nationally regulated insurance.
For the first time ever.

But you knew that, it's just easier to ignore.

14. Yeah, *for profit*
That's a lot closer to fascism than it is to socialism.

But you knew that, it's just easier to ignore.

13. I do, too. Or like I used to feel when one of my teens got into really bad trouble.
Sad and tired that they had to go there.
