Are you folks following the saga of Phoebe the hummingbird?
Found this while stumbling. A really clear web-cam trained on a hummingbird's nest.

She had two eggs in the nest, and fought off a lizard attack yesterday, then took an unviable egg out of the nest, and disappeared. There are thousands of people watching this and posting about it.

Phoebe was gone all night and has returned this morning, and was sitting on the other egg. Quite an amazing thing to watch! This little bird has a huge following.

1. I've been watching Mollie the owl in California
She's sitting on 5 eggs. And she's a beauty.

17. And in the summer, storks nests are active in Poland
We watched one nest last year and I can hardly wait for this year's cams.

2. What connection does Kucinich have to the non-viable egg?
I'm assuming here, but from all I read on DU, it's probably valid to assume that the non-viability of one of the eggs was due in some measure to Dennis Kucinich. Or has the hummingbird cam been "gotten to" by "them" too?

13. The egg has nothing to do with Dennis
Some on the Phoebe chat have been saying since Sunday that the remaining egg's color is wrong and they think it was never fertilized.

16. That's just what "they" want you to think
Wasn't there a period of time over the weekend when the feed to the web cam was diverted somewhere else? Quod erat dennistratum! Arrest my case.

7. Been watching since Sunday
It's been quite interesting as well as educational. I'm just sad that most likely there won't be any hatchlings... Still, Phoebe's beautiful and I could watch those irridescent colors shimmering in the sunlight all day.

10. Here's the link to the lizard...
http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/5495849

It was really tense. I was just watching and all of a sudden I saw this reptile. At first I thought it was a snake, but then I saw it's legs. It happened a little after 4:00 p.m. ET yesterday when I should have been diligently working...
