Stupak's closest ally switches to YES! (Dems no longer counting on Stupak himself)
http://tpmdc.talkingpointsmemo.com/2010/03/pro-life-kildee-will-vote-yes.php

I've been tracking the disintegration of the Stupak block. This next defector is a huge win for Democrats to pass the legislation.

Oberstar and Peirello were the first defectors.

Now Kildee, one of Stupak's closest allies on the pro-life issues of HCR has said he'll support the bill!

Rep. Dale Kildee (D-MI), a pro-lifer, has confirmed that he will vote yes on the Senate health care bill.

"I am convinced that the Senate language maintains the Hyde Amendment, which states that no federal money can be used for abortion," Kildee said in a statement. "The Senate bill includes a 'conscience clause' and allows states to ban plans that include abortion."

4. I heard Kildee's office was being bombarded by calls
from constituents, so it's not a big surprise. At least it looks like the pressure worked. Thanks, Cuz!! (She lives in his district & organized a phone-in).

:applause:

5. Stupak must go. No more C Street Democrats.
His district includes many poor rural areas desperately in need of health care, and all he cares about is abortion.

To me, he is the number 1 Dem in the House that needs replacing.

7. It's too bad he let his C Street buddies get to him
because he did have a pretty progressive voting record--for the UP--but now he's just another myopic anti-choice jerk-off.
