2. Where did you read that? This whole process has damaged the
cause for a national HC system as it allowed the right to build up an opposition movement.

SP will not happen under Obama, he gave us a mandate to buy from private companies, that will be an unfortunate legacy for him and the Democrats.

3. Kucinich just said that on Larry King. The President promised that he would stand behind
Kucinich to get single payer.

5. Either Obama is lying or Kucinich is lying then. I will watch it back in 3 hours and verify, but
thats what I heard Dennis tell Larry.

8. Maybe I missed it, but it does not matter as Obama will be gone...
and besides he was for SP in 2003 and then said we cannot dismantle the private insurance companies as they provide a legitimate service.

At this point I pretty much dismiss the promises.

:(

11. I don't disagree with you, I don't trust him at all either and think that he
sucked Dennis in to voting yes.

14. Sorry for being too quick with the question, either I totally dismissed the
comment or was posting the thread on DU.

:)

And I agree that he was being set up to take most of the blame.

Now look what is being released tonight...

"The Senate parliamentarian told Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) on Wednesday afternoon that her proposal to create a National Insurance Rate Authority runs afoul of reconciliation rules, Feinstein told HuffPost after the conversation.

"I'm crushed it's out," she said. But she added that she would bring it up with him one more time to try to make the case that it would be a legitimate use of reconciliation. "I'm going to make one last effort with the parliamentarian," she said..."

13. I'm sure he'll work on keeping/strengthening the state wide single payer
language.

6. my take: Kucinich doesn't want to be the one to bring down the Obama presidency
Dems have been twisting arms and telling Dems the presidency is at stake; Obama will be a lame duck if this doesn't pass.

It's the DLC rallying around its members to save itself.

It also looked as if Kucinich experienced emotional blackmail.

7. It would seem that way and it would seem that they were going to lay the
entire blame on him if he voted no.

12. Yup
Not on anyone else it seems, not like this. His arm was the one they twisted, it seems they most likely twisted more than that. So Obama promised to help him out huh? I hope it is not like the other promises he has made.
