Dodge dealership reportedly refuses to honor winning Ebay bid (My title)
Guys, what are the odds of this going through? I did what I could to win and sure enough, I won.

Dealer wants to back down now. What could I do?

Dodge : Challenger : eBay Motors (item 390166094286 end time Mar-12-10 14:07:25 PST)

ebay auction: 390166094286
It's in LA county and so am I.
Legal binding contract at the bottom. I did my part so far.

Also, sign up and support the board

Update 3-17-10:
Sat down with the dealership rep with paperwork, payment, and documentation in hand as required in auction listing 11:15 this morning. They won't honor the auction for a 5th time, in person.

1. I hate it when sellers back out of auctions.
This seems like a bad decision on the dealership's part.

2. Not a lot of options, but...
Have you tried talking to the local BBB? Especially where they're a dealership in your area they might be able to mediate and work something out.

On ebay, the seller can cancel a transaction, so I doubt you can do much there. At worst they would delete their account, which still leaves you in the hole.

5. File a complaint with eBay
No harm in trying that.

6. What does the car normally sell for?
You might threaten to call the local newspaper and give them some "good" publicity . . . just before you call your lawyer.

9. This is a problem for EBAY to solve
This shit happens on E-Bay alot. This auto dealer is not the only seller(corporation or individual) to violate E-Bay's terms of selling and "screw over the little guy".

If you have a problem with your E-Bay transaction, you file a complaint with E-Bay and then take whatever legal steps you want if the complaint is not solved to your satisfaction.

13. Little guy?
Edited on Thu Mar-18-10 09:01 AM by Codeine
Dude has over twenty Gs to blow on a muscle car and I'm supposed to feel sorry for him because he's trying to work someone's eBay error? Most auto dealers are hurting, this is obviously a mistake, and the dude shouldn't get the car at a price that absurd.

The "little guy" my ass.

11. I'm sorry, you're in the General Discussion forum of DU..
where discussions of a general nature take place.

Perhaps you should spend some time learning how this site operates before displaying your ignorance so thoroughly.

17. So why are you suggesting that this talk be taken elsewhere?
You seem to be talking out of both sides of your mouth.

21. And then you change your mind again in post 15.
Where you say the discussion is appropriate because it IS general discussion. I'm afraid you suffer from some kind of dementia, you're not making much sense at all.

16. I don't understand why 30k would be such a steal for that SRT8.
You can get a Camaro SS from the dealer's lot for that price and it would smoke the SRT8 on the track. The Challenger is just a big Benz with a hemi stuffed in the engine bay.
