The Republicans have declared war. |
|
And they are going to kick your ass! And they are going to stomp the Democratic Party into the ground.
While you study your navel, they are getting ready to defeat the Democrats big time. If it was not healthcare reform, it would be something else. They are against everything. Either you stand up and fight or you may find yourself having difficulty breathing.
It's not just about Barack Obama, it is about you. It is about your family. It is about our future. Yeah, but there is no public option. Big fucking deal! That can be your last words before your head rolls into the bucket.

But if there is ever a populist revolution in America, fascism not democratic socialism will be the logical consequence.

22. Yes, and we can safely say that the Center Right Corporatists help usher in the new |
|
Totalitarian Order because Democratic CENTRIST LEADERS demonstrated ZERO concern for "the people" through their legislation.
The people see through this center right charade and, as a consequence, the democratic party will lose big come November, WITH or WITHOUT us peon liberals' support.

Been there. Done that.
Enjoy your right-leaning CENTRISM without this unabashed liberal's active support.

13. Actually I'm looking towards realignment |
|
It is going to take a while, but I see a major realignment coming. My interests at this point are more towards creating an environment for a coalition with which I will be comfortable. I'm not sure what the name of the party will be.

15. Right now the "worse thing" I could've imagined happening |
|
when I was still thrilled about Obama's win, is happening. He's abandoned virtually all of his campaign promises, and done so in a way that demonizes liberals and promotes Republicans.

11. Someone needs to cure them of their insanity... somehow. |
|
Before they do something crazy. America can not afford any more hardcore republicans in office. That will just destroy us.
But we can't really afford any more corporate democrat policies either.
I wonder what to do. How do you make the repubs more sane and the dems more progressive in a short period of time? You have to move the political spectrum to the left. But how do you do that when the media and dems are so conservative? It's a very hard question to answer...

No more Bush no more republican iraq wars and republican economic melt downs. No more deficit creating tax cuts for the wealthy. No more republican global warming and increased dependence of imported energy.

17. Obama and the Dems can only defeat themselves at this point |
|
Edited on Thu Mar-18-10 10:26 AM by rocktivity
A health care bill with no public option of any kind is going to erode the hope of the fringe voters who made the 2008 election victories possible--the first-timers, the young, independents, religious moderates, minorities, recovering Republicans. Why wouldn't the Rethugs capitalize on the fact that Obama "couldn't close the deal" on health care? All they'd have to do is lather, rinse and repeat until 2012.
However, I doubt that Kucinich just decided to lay down and die. He got something in return for his support.

30. So long as everyone understands the consequences... |
|
For those that refuse to go along with the corporate insurance reform bill, what happens when it fails? There will be no chance to improve upon a bill that does not exist. Nothing from nothing leaves nothing.
Not only do we get nothing, but we get the Republicans back in power to "fix" everything. But at least, we did not fold. We are really no longer part of the Democratic Party. We are independent from the two-party structure. What do we do now??
