I see a disturbing trend of celebrities running for office...
Reagan, Ahnold, that wrestler guy up in wherever (I think it was Minnesota)...and now even more are thinking of running. Even athletes are considering runs at big offices like Senator and Governor. Now, I am not saying that some of them might not be well qualified and informed and may indeed be the best candidate for a particular office. However, the fear that I have is there are some idiots that will vote for someone just because of their celeb status...and that scares me...

1. They've been running for many years. Reagan was not the first.

5. Yeah, now that egghead from that weather movie is thinking of running....
...what if people think he's as smart and politically savvy in real life as he appears on the big screen?

6. you mean Governor Jesse "the body" Ventura?!?
I don't know though that this is that bad. I mean, look at Texas produced when an exterminator decided to run for Congress (Delay for two or three people who don't already know it). Celebrities may have a higher name recognition, but they're not intrinsically dumber than the rest of society.

8. It's a symptom of the ridiculous media costs in politics
Someone, anyone, with face and name recognition saves a few million in advertising costs by being somewhat "pre-sold". It's just another sign that we need to change how this game is played.
