How important is Congressman Grayson to the mental welfare of the Democratic Party...
I tell you since he has been around, I have not had to yell at the TV, gnash my teeth or pound my breast at the utter lack of snappy, acerbic barbs thrown back at the crass and boorish republicans.

Thank Congressman Grayson and Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman-Schults...

These two have shown that the Dem's are capable of fighting back...

Thank you Florida. for once you are not embarrassing to me.

from anyone!

3. I would have included DK, my congressman, but he has tended
to marginalize himself throughout his career.

But now, he deserves a shout out for coming around and sounding and acting principled about it...

5. Dennis represents my old area of OH, and bless his heart he is one of the hardest workin'
men in Congress. When he is in Washington, he is usually the first one to make a statement during one-minute speeches at the opening on Congress. He has stuck to his guns throughout his career--particularly as Mayor of Cleveland.

6. His strongest trait is the strong services he extends to his people...
He has well staffed outreach offices and he makes sure if someone needs help that they will get that help...

8. They keep me from going nuts with all of the crap slung around anymore and I don't
even live in Florida. Just knowing people like that are in politics makes me realize there are still some good people in the world. Them, some others, and DU.

9. I wish Allen Boyd would take some hints from Grayson
But I know damn well he's too proud of being a Blue Dog to care about what people like me think. I have not been able to get through to Boyd's office for a week to tell him my opinion of HCR. His phones have been overloaded. I emailed him, but I am pretty sure no one in his office reads his emails.

12. Ugh...Boyd was once my rep
I wrote to him numerous times and on various issues. I always got back the same tired form letter. Mr Boyd is soooo busy in Washington, blah blah the workings of government blah blah. Then they put me on his mailing list to get his "newsletter," which was just him touting all the grand things he was doing in Washington and his little list begging for campaign handouts. To borrow an old saying, "that old blue dog don't hunt."

15. Yep, sounds like Allen Boyd
The one time I might have done something - show up for one of his health care townhall meetings - I couldn't since it was right after my surgery. Now, when the DCCC calls me to solicit funds, I use Allen Boyd as an example of the kind of Representative they give money to that I do NOT want to support. Last time DCCC called, I told them that I was donating any money or time I had to whoever would primary Boyd. So far, I don't think anyone has signed up, but I have been so overwhelmed with my own health issues, I have not kept up with local politics.

Al Lawson is running against him and might have a chance!

Lawson leads Blue Dog Boyd in poll
Posted by AlLawson on November 19th, 2009
TALLAHASSEE, FL – A new poll from The Research Network shows state Senator Al Lawson leading incumbent Blue Dog Congressman Allen Boyd in the race for Florida’s 2nd Congressional District. The results are a drastic blow for Boyd and show that North Florida voters are tired of the status quo.

17. Crossing my fingers for Lawson!
If he gets the nod, he will almost certainly be triumphant in the general election! Good for him!

18. I've only met Lawson a couple of times, but he seems good
I have been pretty happy with his record in the state legislature.

There are a boatload of Republicans registered for the primary. I guess I need to look at them to see who Al Lawson will have to face in the general.

13. Grayson sometimes annoys the bejesus out of me
Wasserman-Schutlz rocks.

Personal annoyance aside, Grayson does a great job fighting for what he believes and is very good for the mental welfare of the party.

20. He is immensely important
Good messages, framed correctly. And high damned time some other Democrats got the message about how to do that. The asshole Blue Dogs want us to believe they have to sell out and cater to the corporate interests to keep a Democrat in those seats in more conservative districts. Grayson has shown that for the lie it is and they all need to heed the message.
