To those who think it's just about a win for Obama, it's only a win if the PEOPLE win... |
|
If I didn't want and couldn't afford a crappy product before, but now I am forced to buy it when I still don't want it and can't afford it, that is NOT a win for the people. If you think this is ok because Obama wins, you are not a bleeding heart advocate for the people, as one well-known "expatriate to Canada" DU'er has recently been claiming to be.
I'll admit it, I've moved past my gushing adoration for President Obama from 2 years ago, and I think it's ok if you do too. I've started thinking about myself, and what I want and need. And I like it.

1. I need my insurance subsidy to be permanent |
|
And to stop worrying that funding will be cut and I'll lose my health coverage altogether.
I would think most people would be worrying about that and would be relieved there will always be a reasonable plan, with subsidies, available no matter what happens with their job or health.

4. MSM seem to be wanting to spin this again as something integral to Obama's future... |
|
Typical misdirection and distraction.
I don't care about HCR as it relates to Obama's success record, and I don't even think he cares in that way.
Cuz I'm a gusher.

5. I don't think anyone here on DU is arguing that the only reason to pass HCR is to get the "win". |

As far as I am aware, everyone who supports the package does so primarily because, as policy, it is an improvement over the status quo.
Simple fact: For many, many people this bill is an improvement.
