...but every person or entity in politics I hate, fear, and loathe is 100% against it, and pushing harder every day. There are a lot of people who absolutely disgust me in the GOP, at Fox News, on AM Radio, leading Tea Party rallies, etc. and not a single one I know of wants this bill to pass.
And at this point, I simply can't believe that they're faking all this rage and angst because they secretly love it, or they think they can exploit it for their own purposes, or so forth. Nor do they want to amend the bill, or start over again, as some progressive opponents want to do.
The Forces of Darkness in this country want Health Care Reform DEAD. It's not just about Obama and Pelosi; make no mistake, they'll never TOUCH this issue if they ever get their goons into Congress and the White House again. And I'm not willing to take a chance and give them time to become even more wealthy and powerful than they already are.
I'm for the bill passing.

So what? That has little to do with my objections to it (though it does reinforce my intuition that the mandate is extremely appealing to the secretly authoritarian assholes in our party).

I don't think passing a bad bill just to thwart the republicans is any better than them stopping health care reform just to thwart the Democrats.
