Where does your congressional representative stand? |

Where does your congressional representative stand on the health reform bill? Here's a chart that shows how they're voting. Many are still undecided. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/special/politics/votes/house/finalhealthcare/?hpid=topnews

Edited to add: Currently working on getting John Hall (NY-19 - one district up) to vote yes. My parents, aunt and uncle are all in that district - gave them the number and asked them to call. He's on the fence and only getting calls against HCR so it's time to let him to know his constituents want it passed.

6. That chart is badly out of date. I spoke with Baird & Smith's |
|
offices this morning and staff confirmed that both of these Washington reps are firm "Yes" votes. I talked with Congressman Dicks office, too, and the staff in Dicks office told me that all the Ds in the Washington delegation were firm "Yes" votes.
My friend on Smith's staff told me she has heard the whip count as of 11 PDT Friday had 213 firm "Yes" votes with 8 more leaning who would go "Yes" if their votes were needed. Some are in red districts leadership wants to protect from a tough vote if it can convert others.
My friend told me that very few are truly undecided. They just won't tell the press what they have already told leadership.

7. The Big Mo will vote for HCR |
|
I think it is right down his ally, although he will quickly admit that single payer would be better for the safety and security of America..

Coffman and Lamborn, are voting AYE to the HCR.
I'd like to see Coffmann and Lamborn thrown out. Maybe redistricting to include some of Denver might get Coffmann out, but Lamborn is El Paso Repuke, home of Focus on the Family, so I won't count on it, unless we can figure out how to gerrymander Colorado Springs to include District 3, and we just might get away with removing Lamborn.

9. Nice touch to add "campaign contributions from health industry" |
|
Too bad the sorting feature is a SNAFU. It sorts as if it were text, so contributions of $2,000,000 sort below contributions of $199,000.

12. My Rep. Allen "Blue Dog" Boyd of Florida is a "No" and is ducking calls |
|
His Washington office phone has been busy all day. His Tallahassee Florida office voice mail box has been full all week. His Panama City Florida office voice mail is full today. He does not respond to emails, so I don't know if he is reading them. And I know that he doesn't give a shit.
Guess, what, Boyd, next election you will find out if the voters give a shit!

Even a broken clock is correct once every 12 hours. That no vote is the only thing Walden's ever done that I approved of. Not that it will ever earn him a vote from me.

15. GOP rep . . . and is voting against . . . |
|
Edited on Fri Mar-19-10 03:18 PM by defendandprotect
This is a fairly wealthy town . . . so far . . . which probably has the
wealth to pay for health care -- but doesn't question that we are paying
PER PERSON what Swiss are paying for a luxurious health care system and
what we mainly get is paperwork and "NO" from "for profit" health care
insurance companies!!
However, no one is immune in this economy . . . the upper middle class and
wealthy will be last to be attacked -- but unless they're in a coma they
know we, as well, have boarded up stores --
Businesses are forgoing maintenance and store areas are dirtier and they're
not fixing pot holes in their parking lots --
Restaurants are dirtier -- bathrooms, as well.
This is happening everywhere --
Hey, they have to use the same bridges that everyone else uses.
Same schools -- and for the moment while there are attacks on public education
our schools remain fairly well financed here . . . for the moment!
Women and their jobs are being undermined . . . children/day care . . . these
are families who are usually two-earner.
As usual, we humans don't seem to learn much until it is too late.
And, you can include Global Warming in that -- these chaotic weather conditions
effect all of us and we're all one step from being "Katrina'ed" --
Another example here is that two RCC churches - one in our town, one in next --
are expanding! That's either absolute obstinence or ignorance in the face of this
church's history and current scandals -- not sure which!
And, a lack of concern with Separation of Church of State -- or a failure to be aware
of this church's push to cross those lines, repeatedly!
PLUS, Charter school issues -- and "faith-based" organizations getting taxpayer money!
Do they want a theocracy or do they fail to understand what's going on?
I'm against this legislation, as well -- but I'm also anti-Leonard Lance and GOP.
