What are the reasons the legislatures are giving for that? What are the local media saying about it? What, if anything, are your neighbors saying about it?

1. No, in Texas I think they're just going to try to secede from the Union.

3. And it's the Republicans doing it?
Just being dumb symbolic Republicans and not even causing a stir in the media or among voters?

I hate Republicans.

4. I think Idaho did. I didn't see any details on it yet. After HCR
passes, I'm sure I'll find out just what all will be involved. I'm lucky and have pretty good coverage from my employer now. I work for a company based in Washington state and live in Idaho.
I live right on the state line and it wouldn't be that big of a deal to move to WA if there were some advantage to doing so.

8. Your state is schizoid.

Really split in personality.

What are people saying about it. Are they saying it's just an empty stunt, typical Republican blowing-hard?

6. My state is working on a single payer plan.
It actually looks promising as it has bipartisan support. I am shifting my efforts on health care reform to the state level since I see little hope on the national level for meaningful reform.

10. Wow! You mean they aren't all evil?
Why can't they act like that in the US Congress? Why do the national ones all have to be assholes? I really don't get it.

12. I live in Atlanta, which is in Georgia unless you're from Georgia, in which case it's not
So it's probably just a matter of time.

This is also a state where a guy who had his name changed to "Right to Life" is running for governor, and legislation allowing the use of road kill as food was proposed last month.

 :silly: :wtf: :dunce:
