2. I believe it's the spring equinox, not a solstice.... |
|
Solstices are when the sun is at its maximum displacement from the Earth's solar equator, one in December and one in June. The equinoxes are when the sun crosses the solar midpoint, once in March and once in September.

Amazing, isn't it? Here we are just spinning around so fast through this vast universe and tomorrow we will be straight up spinning but only for a few seconds.
Oh, to be at the Kulkukan Pyramid at Chichen-Itza!

6. Equinox, not Solstice. |
|
Solstice is in winter and summer. Equinox is spring and fall.

11. Vernal Equinox and Autumnal Equinox |
|
At the Vernal Equinox we give thanks to the goddess Ostara (Anglo-Saxon Eostre). Place a colored egg on her altar for fertility in the coming growing season. Ostara's sacred animal is the Osterhaas or Easter hare.
