Mom of octuplets may lose home to foreclosure
Source: Associated Press

LA HABRA, Calif. – Octuplets mom Nadya Suleman could be kicked out of her Southern California home.

Mortgage holder Amer Haddadin says he is starting foreclosure proceedings on the $565,000 La Habra residence because the family hasn't kept up the payments.

His friend and adviser, Ramsey Masso, said Friday that Haddadin signed over the home to Suleman's father last year.

Ed Suleman, who leased the home to his daughter, was supposed to pay about $4,000 a month and a final balloon payment of $450,000 that was due earlier this month.

1. Is this the two-bedroom home she was in or the newer one? I thought the
bigger home was a freebie.

her out? Or, did the lives of her children and their well being only matter when not born yet?

The pro-life people will probably say some pick up by your boot straps BS to her if she asks for help.

21. For the so-called pro-lifers, those babies only count "in utero".
Once they have made their way through the birth canal... tough shit.

6. Just when I think this woman might finally go away...
Honestly, I wish nothing bad to come to those kids, but maybe if they foreclose and she actually has to scramble (or risk the state taking the kids), she will grow the F__K up.

7. she was hoping to become famous
and make a bundle off of her reproductive capacity. She is sick in the head IMO and doesn't need any more children.

She cannot take care of the ones she has.

SHAME ON HER IMO.

:dem:

13. The state, or possibly wild dogs taking those kids in is their best chance
Nothing the child welfare system could put those kids through is possibly worse than being raised by that psychotic.

9. Those are some pretty slick financing terms,....

which I would say heavily favors the lender.

This must have been a 1-year loan instead of the standard 30-year deal. The balloon payment is almost as much as the friggin purchase price.

Didn't this baby mill only live there for < 1 year?

23. No, obviously
it was a short term interest only loan which would have made sense if one was expecting a big payday and it's apparent that her 15 min were up before the payday could be realized.

10. It was never "hers" to lose..
a family member owned it, and her father apparently "got" it for her to live in but apparently no one ever paid the guy who really owns it..

She's a scammer/grifter..what else would we expect?

12. On a side note: I read today that all eight babies are perfectly healthy.
I was actually shocked. Most major-multiple pregnancies end up with at least one or two babies who have serious long-term health problems.

17. What was the source?
I'm just asking because if the report was from anyone other than the kids' docs, it may have been, er, optimistic. I'd love to hear that all have no long lasting developmental or physical challenges but you're right about the high incidence of long-term health problems for some super multiple children.

20. me too.. "perfectly" healthy sounds a bit too optimistic to me
Many times they problems crop up as they near school age and their visual problems & learning disabilities can be more readily assessed.

She's got FOURTEEN children...all quite young..so how much individual time can she possibly give any of them..it takes time to realize each child's needs & possible disabilities.

If non of them have cerebral palsy, she got very lucky.. Remember the McCaughey litter? They were to become the media darlings of their time,,UNTIL is was painfully obvious that even cute little kids could not overcome the fact that the thick glasses of many of them, the obvioous speech impediments of some, and the wheelchair & leg braces for one (maybe two?> I forget now) were just not all that appealing to the public..and that family faded into history..

the Dilley Sextuplets are the only "multiple" kids who seem to be still interesting to the public..and now that they are grown up, even they are not all that interesting anymore.

When these were naturally-occurring , rare events, people were "into" it, but once Franken-gyno doctors started playing god with turkey basters, people see it for what it's become.. a desperate plea for fame, and an expectation that they will somehow get "free stuff" for their litter, and a book deal for themselves:(

19. Some relatively minor things wouldn't show up yet.
My understanding is that higher order multiples have a very high rate of learning difficulties due to early birth.

They're not totally out of the woods, but nothing that shows up in the first year or so is a very good sign that any problems they might have will probably only be cognitive and not physical, at least. Hopefully not even that, but who knows.
