Here's How I Think They Twisted Kucinich's Arm:
Obama to Kucinich:

"It looks like you have the deciding vote. If you vote it down, we'll just come back again in 2011 with a MUCH more conservative, possibly Republican, Congress. (Thanks to SCOTUS Corporate Free Speech.) That bill will be even worse and we'll blame it ALL on you for the rest of your career."

1. Nope. I have/had no expectations this bill would be reintroduced
in any form if it doesn't pass now. And if rethugs were in power, I'm sure of it. Their history attests to that. They have no interest in doing anything for Americans regarding health care.

5. I agree "They have no interest in doing anything for Americans regarding health care."
But the current system is broken for the hospitals and the insurance companies are losing customers. This bill is an attempt to save the US fee-for-service system. If it didn't pass, there would be another one, not because the people need it, but because Big Health needs it.

2. What Bill?
If the rushpublicans retake control of the House and/or Senate this year, health care reform of any type would be a dead issue, as would immigration reform, card check, cap and trade, banking reform and anything of substance. We'd be back to the gridlock of the late 90's...thus if now, it may not happen for another 10 or 20 years. Kudo to Representative Kucinich for looking at the big picture and seeing the importance of getting this bill done. The "arm twisting" was reality...
