The Republicans have framed Obama's entire tenure so far in the familiar trope of "Tax and Spend Democrats". The majority of Americans literally can't afford more taxes; which is part of the reason so many are anxious about new programs like Health Care Reform.

We can't afford tax increases, but the minority can. That is the "Man Behind the Curtain" the Republican's are desperately trying to keep you from seeing.

So, here's what I'm asking:

Go to your local online papers, find a story dealing with local services being cut back (schools, library closings) or national services being cut back (postal delivery, etc) and paste in the following letter.

____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Let’s face facts: Taxes pay for services. Less tax money equals fewer services. It’s a simple equation.

Over the years the top tax rate for the “SuperRich” has dropped from 94% under FDR in Depression I to it’s lowest ever under “Trickle Down” Ronnie at a meager 28%

“SuperRich” income averages 344 million per year. A 94% tax forces them to live on a mere 20 million a year. Paying Reagan’s “WealthCare” rate nets them 247 million a year.

Today, the “SuperRich”, using tax loopholes, pay a bit more in tax than the 15% paid by unwashed middle and lower classes; so the “SuperRich” net 300 million a year in income. Each. The merely wealthy top 10%, net more per year than the struggling 80% of Americans combined.

Adults have to make choices. Services mean somebody has to pay for them. The rich used to foot the bill. Which was fair, since the bulk of their wealth was created by the sweat and labor of the poor.

Want services? The old solution is the new solution: Tax the RICH!

It's under 1000 characters which is the limit for most of the online comment sections. They don't vet the comments section for duplicates like they do for the print paper, so you can hit several stories in the area.

Yes, somebody will catch on eventually and report you....maybe. Meanwhile you can inform a few people about why the services they depend on are disappearing.

2. Out where I live, youtube is an impossibility
Most of the people out my way have dial up (as I do). And the small town local news papers won't let you put links in your comments (or at least they don't here)

If you want to reach the most people, then you have to assume the mostly widely available means.

Many people don't go downtown so standing on town square is out.

The mall and WallyWorld are private property, I can't hand out flyers there.

This is about what I've got to offer.
