It's really a shame when you have to make up facts to show you're right
Someone a few threads ago was trying to debunk talking points from freeplets about Kerry not being in VietNam over Christmas. I got to thinking about how they make up crap an awful lot of the time. Do they even know they are making things up? Are they undergoing some sort of psychotic break, so they don't realize that they are making things up? Or are they just habitual liars?

OR, is it that they think that thier opinion is so important, that facts don't matter?

Freepiciles, you are aware of the fact that if you have to make up 'facts' to support your arguments, then it means you're WRONG...aren't you?

1. no - because they are ideologues. Ideology takes precedence over reality
If the facts don't support their ideology, they simply attack the facts.

This particular way of dealing with reality is not limited to our friends in the Republican party.

3. That's true
It's damned hard to understand how someone could think that way, though.

2. This week's assignment:
Research the concept of "doublethink" in George Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-Four, and the psychological phenomenon of "groupthink", particularly as it applies to the Bay of Pigs fiasco. Should tell you all you need to know about the Freepers' curious behaviour.

6. Their glorious leader doesn't deal in facts either
They all live in a delusional world where if the facts don't fit, they make them up. They can't be bothered with things like evidence and logic except to fabricate what they need to suit their pre-existing concepts. And if you force the issue, they tune you out.

Granted, everyone does this to some degree. But Bush** and his bots have raised it to a very dangerous way of life.
