How's our whip count looking?
Is there a site that has up-to-the-minute counts of YES votes?

2. Isn't the margin smaller than 217 because of vacancies?

4. No. The house can potentially have 435 members.
Assuming all the seats are filled, it takes 218 votes to pass a bill. Not all the seats are filled though, so 216 is the magic number right now.

A tied votes results in the bills defeat.

6. not concerned about whip counts right now on websites
when it's time to put this over the top, i trust pelosi, reid and obama. no way they'd let it go this far to fall short. i think they know the outcome before putting their necks on the line.
