Michele Bachmann 'Amaricas Congress Woman,' Her Website Declares

First Posted: 03-20-10 06:19 PM | Updated: 03-20-10 06:49 PM

Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) hasn't been caught writing any core beliefs on her hand to remember them, but her reelection campaign seems to have trouble remembering the name of the country she serves.

"Michelle Bachmann - Amaricas Congress Woman" reads the search banner for Bachmann's campaign Website, spotted Saturday by HuffPost's Jason Linkins.

If Bachmann herself has trouble spelling "America" and "Congresswoman" or employing basic punctuation, that might explain, in part, her antipathy for the U.S. Census Bureau.

6. I think they have already changed it
"Michele Bachmann - Amaricas Congress Woman" muast have been the page title as defined in the HTML header, and that must have been how it showed up at the top of the browser window because that's what the Yahoo search gave as the page result. But now the page title shows up as "Michele Bachmann for Congress" so between then and now someone updated the "TITLE" tag in the header. Or, it could have been what someone typed in when they submitted the site to the Yahoo search engine. At any rate, I can't find "Amaricas Congress Woman" anywhere on the body of the page now. Maybe the Internet Archive or Wayback Machine has a copy of it...

12. Yes, but that's on Yahoo, not on Bachmann's site
If you go to Bachmann's site you don't see it there. What I think happened is when you submit a site to the Yahoo directory (not just their web crawler), you can type in a title, and that's where they typed in "Amarica's Congress Woman." That overrides whatever the page title tag has, I guess. So I think that is in the Yahoo Directory only. If you go to Google and search for her site, you don't see that line.

10. It's a clever CYA move - when she's finally called on all her anti-American BS
she can say "Oh no, you misunderstood - I was working for 'Amarica'. Amarica is my cat."

:)
