Spitting on a man & calling him a nigger over health care?
Edited on Sun Mar-21-10 06:04 AM by Philosoraptor
This is rush's fault, and hannity, and beck, and fox news, why don't the 'teabaggers' just come out and admit it, 'we're afraid of black people'? Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words are very dangerous too.

Sane ladies and gentlemen of America, brace yourselves, the crazy republican losers are getting angrier every minute, and they will soon become our terrorist neighbors.

Their anger obviously isn't about health care, or the war, it's only about racism and fear and hatred, and we'd better zero in on these creeps before they do something stupid.

1. I agree that health care is just the current event they've chosen the fix the hatred around
Some of it is racism, but I think some of it is blind hatred. They'd be crazy republican losers with any Democrats in the White House and in charge of Congress. They've decided that losing an election means they're allowed to go mad for the next 2/4/whatever years. That old accusation they had of 'why do you hate America?' seems to have been a bit of projection on their part - they hate an America without Republicans in charge.

4. I'm alarmed at how easily controllable they are
I really think that they could be sent over the edge of sanity by their fox news puppet masters

24. Controllable Or Just
looking for affirmation of their true beliefs and an excuse to act on them? I think they have always wanted to do these things but lacked public acceptance of their actions. With that acceptance they are becoming increasingly dangerous. It feels like the beginning of another civil war. The lack of civilization in our population amazes me. Half of our country is a bunch of knuckle dragging idiots who don't realize they are feeding the corporate machine and losing what economic status they have. They scream about patriotism while advocating for less and less freedom. I could go on for days about the irony of their every action. Senior citizens wanting the govt. out of their medical insurance and opposing socialism. I guess they could find a way to cancel their medicare and social security benefits.

5. Spot on.. it could be any controversial issue... they just hate the fact Democrats are in charge.
They are evil scum and the farthest thing from being patriotic.

This is why its still impotant to try to try to work with the moderates in the right wing..
to alienate these wacko extremists so they have no influence.. otherwise this country is headed towards a very ugly future.

19. Short list
It will be a damned short list. The way that the far right talks about moderates is illuminating. The only good republican, to them, is a far right, fringe whacko conservative.

9. Actually you have it backward:
This is why it SHOULD be important for moderates in the right wing to try to work with us, the majority. I made my own fast whip count yesterday of Republicans actively working in a bipartisan manner to distance their party from extremists. I came up with ZERO.

It seems to occur to no one that you can probably not name a single vote in the last century where at least some Democrats didn't vote with the Republicans. The fact we now see multiple votes with EVERY "R" voting no is enough to show that their only motivation is blind hatred and rage. I have no interest with working with "moderate" hatred and rage.

11. You can't write off the entire Republican party.. although we all want to..
They still are part of the Government and represent a large percentage of the country. We have to try to find common ground or this country is doomed.

13. Actually I have written them off.
But only as they currently exist. I seems to me that they have failed cataclysmically and are heading toward the death of the existing party. No two party system can exist with the prescence of implacable hate as the basis for one party and then work toward a bipartisan "good".
I rather expect we are living in interesting times. I very muich wonder if we are heading toward a much more multi-party system based on a European models and majority coalitions.

17. You may be right.. The GOP does appear to be in its death throes...
and they know it which explains partly why they are acting so bizarre and desperate. Multi-party systme could be good but thats a long way off in this country. In the meantime we have to make do with what we have now.

25. The Problem Is
the Republican party is imploding and the Democrat party is acting like the old Republican party. Who will step in and create a new party that is either center of left of center? Cause right now we have almost no one that is anything but right of center in both parties. The main difference is how far right they lean.

2. Unfortunately....
... the bulk of the party acts like children when they can't get their way. They scream and kick, spit and curse, just like a child. They should be treated as such. I just tell them to grow up. They hate that! If they don't like the way things are, they should do it like we did....win the elections by running reponsible and knowledgable candidates. But, they had rather listen to the idiots Limbaugh and Beck and elect children like Bachmann, Canter, and Boner. They will continue to lose, I have no doubts. The majority of Americans are smarter than they are. Thank goodness!

10. It's more than hating black people
It's ReTHUG fascists who believe it's their way or the highway. Their behavior for the past year pretty much patterns the behavior of RW groups across the world usually well funded by the backers of military dictators or velvet revolutions.

15. A Total Lack of Maturity
I don't know when this childish attitude came to be. There was a time we had basically two sides and yes they didn't very much like each other but they did TOLERATE each other. They did not pull no shows when voting came, they did not do a lot of kiddie stuff like booing or covering their eyes or ears when there was something they didn't like but it has escalated to a total hate filled atmosphere. These adults are acting far worse then bad mannered grade school kids and showing to the world just how low they have sunk when it comes to ideas they don't agree with.

20. Racism
Racism may be more visibly evident in the Republican part, but it's not absent from the democratic party. This is a serious problem our country needs to deal with.

21. The behavior of the visible aspects of some is truly disturbing...
I live in a seriously Red state, (Nebraska), and there are very few in the GOP hierarchy here that could possibly "approve" of such tactics. My Mom, (in NY), is a life long R, who found her party going down the tubes w/bush, she cold not vote for him in '04, and refused to vote for McCain; for the first time from when she could vote, she refused to vote R...that is incredible, at least to me. Her party has sunk to depths that has brought her to despair.

This is not the GOP of yesterday, it is a monster created by various forces that have taken over the ideology of original GOP. Big money, the Religious Right and other entities have brought the Party of Lincoln to it's collapse. The GOP will not survive in it's current form, and going further right will cause it to implode. There is one good thing, the Radical Republicans will shear off with it's 15% and the GOP will collapse as political stronghold.

Check out The Star today. Most comments on a couple articles are calling Cleaver a liar.

23. Then they should've yelled, 'liar', politicians are used to that.
A man shouldn't be too offended to be called a liar, but they've exposed themselves by using hate words.
