I've got it-a sure-fire, can't miss, guaranteed Nov election winning strategy for ANY Dem candidate.
Differentiate.

Draw a line in the sand. Repubs on one side, Dems on the other side.

If Dems oppose Repubs instead of trying to act like their TWIN, people will follow.

A mirror image of GOP policy is horrible Democratic policy.

How can a Dem differentiate?

Publicly oppose war and call for legislation that will order the end ALL wars we are currently engaged in.

Publicly call for reduction in 'defense' spending.

Publicly call for Medicare for ALL.

Publicly call for the repeal of NAFTA and an end to "Free" Trade. Fair Trade instead.

Support passage of Employee Free Choice Act.

Publicly call for prescription drug price control.

Publicly call for trust-busting.

End "health" insurer anti-trust exemption.

Indict government/ex gov officials-war criminals and those who authorized torture. Those who fabricated and falsified evidence that led us into war.

Just a few examples of how a Dem can differentiate. Most of the above positions would bring droves of populist support.

Dems, learn it.

Differentiate, or November won't be one to remember.

1. I'm pretty sure they called for all that in the last election - what's disappointing
is that they've done too little of it since being sworn in.

2. Yeah - the Dems went "Me, too" in the Gingrich era, and never recovered from it.
They must get over it now - the GOP is showing its true craziness more every week and there will be a lot of people looking for a party that really displays concern about the people's good....It has to be us.

5. That's based on the assumption that the Establishment would allow such a candidate to 'win'
... an "election."

6. It's based on the assumption that a majority of people want those things...
... which they don't.

7. Paul Wellstone taught me that a candidate can break through the establishment and win.
Wellstone had charisma and enthusiasm. He also gave a great speech.

But, he proved that a progressive unknown underdog can defeat a wealthy well funded Republican when he beat Rudy Boschwitz in 1990.

But I also can agree with what you said too. It can be very difficult for a non-establishment Dem to win a Dem primary.

However, for some reason I have a good vibe about the primary season thats happening now. I believe progressives will make gains in the primaries. Just a gut feeling. There is so much anger against DLC Dems that are in primary battles this cycle. Rightly so. I'm one of the angry.

I hope things change where a non-establishment Dem can win. If enough win, we can end this whole 'establishment' nonsense that is nothing but toxic to the Dem party.

Peace
UY

8. I've got one, too.
It's simple: Break up the cable TV monopolies for price-fixing. We'll have a Democratic majority for decades!
