Please, don't let him be right. Oh, man, this has to pass now. Just to defeat those racist scumbags that were protesting yesterday.

3. Oh, sorry, oops. It was just on MSNBC and Hoyer also agrees we don't have
the votes, he says only 3 more needed of something like 8 that are undecided at this point.

reiterate that no federal funds would be spent on abortions under the bill: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=433x234054
Many of his buddies are looking at it seriously and some could have defected from him. He has no idea what he is talking about. He claimed he had 12 when he had 6 yesterday. He is a legend in his own mind and tool of The Family. He doesn't care about abortion he just is following The Family's instructions to obstruct the bill.

10. They have the votes. This is manufactured drama
We're not watching "Will this pass?!" We're watching a blame shuffling. The thing is, this bill is so bad that many Democratic politicians do not want to take responsibility. They want to be able to back to their district before November and be able to declare "Hey, I didn't vote for this piece of shit!"

So this is all jockeying for position. This is about Democratic politicians pressuring Speaker Pelosi to grant them a note that excuses them from voting.

At the end of the day, there will be 216 votes. Right now, we're watching an intra-party dispute over who has to be one of those votes and who doesn't. It's a vote pageant. That is why safe politicians like Kucinich were ultimately brought into the fold, and why the hold-outs tend to be politicians who perceive their vulnerability or depend on a certain constituency for their power (Stupak and the pro-life lobby, for example).

All of this "Will they or won't they?!" is kabuki. It makes for great drama, but it's not what they tell you it is. Personally, I'm enjoying the odd mixture of politicians and media, as they serve up their propaganda performances for our sake.

They have the votes. They were always going to have the votes. What we're watching has nothing to do with reform and everything to do with how the party will configure House elections in November.

13. I don't know for sure that this bill will bring about good things either..I am worried..I just know
that I don't want the teabaggers to win at this point. Yes, I hate them. Maybe that makes me as bad as them, but I hate them and their racism and homophobia.

16. Oh, I hate them too
But I don't hate them so much that I want catastrophic legislation to pass just so I can stick it to them. I'm not that much into my team. Personally, I think really good legislation would have stuck it to them just as much.

Which makes all of this that much more depressing.

22. Got a CNN Breaking News email about a half hour ago saying we
DO have enough:

-- House Democrats have 216 votes needed to pass health care reform, chairman of House Democratic Caucus tells CNN.

God. Talk about a cliffhanger! I guess we won't know for certain until that 216th vote is cast. God.

24. Sounds just like Pennsylvania in 08!!
Remember the media, even Rachel, saying that Pennsylvania was too close to call. I believe Obama won it by 10-12 points.

I'm not buying the drama.
