2. No
Were apathetic and ignored, being passed over for the new Democrats (those who peeled from the Republicans by being ostracized by the extremist antics). They are like the new girl in 5th grade class, and all the leadership is wooing them to make a lasting impression. Oh, please don't leave our tent. Its so large. Don't mind these assholes in the corner.

10. Explain?
If this is your disappointment in the final legislation talking, I share your woe. But, BUT - this to me is like inching out of the side of the curb, grabbing on with fingernails to fight that 5% that has 95% of American wealth and saying, "WE DON'T GIVE YET; WE ARE STILL HERE; IT MAY BE ONLY CRUMBS, BUT BY GOD, IT WILL SUSTAIN US (BECAUSE IT HAS TO) UNTIL WE GET OUR FAIR SHARE. WE ARE NOT GOING ANYWHERE!"

I know it's pathetic, but, analyzing historically, this is how it has always worked. Evolution: it's a long, slow slog. At least we're moving in the right direction.

11. Disappointed in the bill?
Edited on Sun Mar-21-10 12:51 PM by cilla4progress
Me too. To have to fight so hard for so little. It sucks. But, I think once it passes, assuming it passes, each reform the Dems bring will have an easier time. This includes immediate modifications to HCR, including Grayson's Medicare for All. We must dream big.

25. Funny! Edited!
Must have been a Freudian slip! Speaking of the Clintons...I guess Bill was great last night at the Gridiron. Seems they're all in the zone right now. I do wonder what they are thinking as they watch this, in view of their own experience some 16 years ago.

22. So I take it you've been fired up to oppose this bill and
support universal, single-payer, NOT-FOR-PROFIT health CARE, since medical debt will still be a problem with the current insurance bill.

24. this bill is not perfect
but it was a step in the right direction. I spoke with two congressmen on Tuesday, and the progressive Democrat (Rush Holt) I spoke to thinks that within 10 years we will have single payer. This bill is not the be all end all. He thinks it will get better over time

29. Since it doesn't address the actual dysfunction in the system,
it will never be the true solution, no matter how much it's "tweaked."
