1. Dumbest motherfuckers in history
I don't want this bill because if someone else gets on Medicare or Medicaid, it'll mess up my Medicare or Medicaid.

:wtf:

5. some people don't know the difference
between Medicare and Medicaid. I've witnessed this in many places, including right here on the DU.

9. No, not these people
They knew the difference.

One woman was mad because of Obama's remarks to House Democrats yesterday - because he was mean to Republicans, why is it all Democrat this and that, and her disabled husband was cut off Medicaid and isn't eligible for Medicare yet, but she's disabled and on Medicare, and pays her premiums, and now other people are going to get on these programs...

and then there was the one who was worried about men getting out of prison and their health care...

it just went on and on like that this morning.

10. this means that her disabled husband didn't work long enough
if he had and if he is considered "disabled" he'd be eligible for Medicare regardless of his age.

I heard her alright. She is one of many that will come up with this type of crap to justify their own reality.

11. There's a two year wait
From the time you get your social security and become eligible for Medicare. I'm pretty sure disabled people are always eligible, but they do have the two year wait. Isn't that correct?

She wasn't confused though, she was just a selfish nut.

12. they have to have paid into it
Edited on Sun Mar-21-10 12:28 PM by CountAllVotes
you need to have worked and paid into it. If you haven't paid enough into it the premium is higher. They go by the quarters just like Social Security does. Not enough quarters = no Medicare at a reasonable cost.

Maybe she is getting a subsidy from the state? Who the hell knows what her reality really is? Not enough info. to really know.

On edit: If you have never paid into Medicare you do not get it unless you live to be 65 and are married to someone that has paid into it.
