8. Really? Do you mind if I ask why?
I'm not trying to be a smarta$$, I was just being curious.

I think Ed has been knocking it out of the park on healthcare reform issues over the last several months.

10. I am against this bill. Shultz was against it then changed his mind. I
feel the passage this HCR package will cause a huge Democratic defeat in November. I used to be a great fan of Ed.

11. You are saying that this will cause a huge democratic defeat in Nov..that
sounds just like what the repugs are saying...so you think they are right??? I would think they would be glad if we lost the election in Nov..they should be very happy right now...

15. Yes. I think they had the Democrats in checkmate. After Obama
gave in on all the public option and then at the last minute the right for the government to control insurance rate increases (very sneaky), it really didn't matter to the Republicans whether HCR passed or not. Their talking points are already established. A lot of this may kubuki theater. I've read the bill twice, just finished the second reading last Friday. It is a horrible bill. Does it do some good? Sure. But it does way more harm. If it helps you out, I'm glad for that. But the mandates to buy insurance I'm not even sure is Constituional, and can you imagine the fear people who don't have insurance right now and have lost their house, their job, etc, and now are forced to buy insurance? Sure there are the subsidies for those who can't afford it, but those will be administered by another government agency when Medicare is already bankrupt. And collections of policy fees will be made by the IRS? Plus, with the government not being able to control rate changes, we are now being forced to buy insurance from corporations who can charge whatever they want. This is pure fascism. There is much much more to tell, but you get the idea. Read the bill some time when you get the chance.
