I'm pretty sure we have Quigley's vote and we do not have lipinski's vote. (I gotta say I'm proud that I volunteered for the dem in the primary who ran against lipinski.

Abortion Splits Dems
Quigley and Lipinski undecided, but for different reasons

"House Democrats say they've got the votes to pass the massive health care reform bill -- but two representatives from Chicago are not among them.

Rep. Mike Quigley, whose 5th District includes many of the liberal-leaning neighborhoods on the city's North Side, says he will not vote for the legislation if a deal is made with the anti-abortion bloc -- and he wants all abortion restrictions stripped out of the bill.

On the other end, the anti-abortion Rep. Dan Lipinski, whose district includes the more blue collar Southwest Side, wants stricter provisions limiting abortion procedures in the bill. He's part of a coalition of anti-abortion Democrats still threatening to vote against the legislation if their demands are not met.

The Sun-Times' Lynn Sweet called the two legislators a microcosm of the larger struggle going on in Washington ahead of Sunday's vote. A deal to get anti-abortion Democrats on board could alienate some of their more liberal-leaning counterparts -- and put the 216 votes needed in jeopardy. Speaker Nancy Pelosi says no such deal will be made -- but there's still a chance that a last-minute amendment could be introduced on the House floor."

1. Hopefully, the Anti-Choice members of the House will lose their primaries..
next time around. It's embarrassing to have these Neanderthals representing the Democratic party. Are they going to try to stick their backwards, right wing agenda into every bill from now on?

2. Dan (Dino) Lipinski doesn't have anyone opposing him.
The IL primary was February 3rd. Even if someone did step up and run against him, his father would get someone to split the votes against him by throwing a 3rd candidate in the mix. He's done it twice before in 2006 and 2008 and it works everytime.

This guy is a disgrace to himself, he has diabetes and opposes using stem cell research against finding a cure for it... We really need someone who is a real Democrat to represent us here in the Illinois 3rd, but I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for it. It's all about the powers that be and that ain't changing anytime soon in Illinois. :evilfrown: :evilfrown:
