Where are the "majority of Americans"
Edited on Sun Mar-21-10 01:12 PM by colorado thinker
the republicans keep talking about, the ones who don't want health care reform?

If there is a majority who don't want this, it's because WE DON'T WANT THE VERSION THE REPUBLICANS HAVE FORCED!!!!!!!!!!! Bastards. Don't you DARE attempt to speak for me, or mine, or the millions of us who want health INSURANCE REFORM but will not get what we wanted because of Republicans and wimpy Democrats forcing changes we didn't want. I wanted SINGLE PAYER. If not that, I wanted PUBLIC OPTION.

Bastards. Greedy, selfish bastards.

5. You'll have to ask them, but I'm sure it has something to do with winning future elections.

9. That seems most logical
DEMS acting like this is a great victory don't seem to be aware it is a skirmish and not even a big battle.

Decoy. And too many will settle for the illusion of a win, while walking down the path that leads to defeat.

2. Everybody from left to right claims the majority agrees with them
Amazing how the majority can think both things at the same time!

3. Yes, the majority of Americans WANT to be under the boot of Wellpoint and Humana.
Sure thing, guys. :sarcasm:

Anyone find it funny that the very things wingdings protest against regarding Single Payer (which this plan isn't), "Government-Run Helth Care" (which, again, this plan isn't) and the public option (which this plan does not have) are the very things their private-insurance does to them already, and they're too massively dumb to get the point?

6. Your POINT Is Well Taken!! Those Who Have Opposed HCR Has NOT
been because we DON'T WANT HCR, We DO!! It's simply because it's been so WATERED down and compromised that it hardly seems like REFORM!! To some it seems that HCR NEEDS to be passed just so they can say it GOT DONE!!

I so WISH I could have some real assurance that it will be RE-VISITED with VIGOR, and more provisions will be implemented to make it actually BE HCR!!

I myself have spoken out against the watering down and how so many have been almost "forced" to agree and/or vote for this simply because it's a START! My WISH is that this will be so... A START!! Because if it's not simply a start, this doesn't seem to be HCR, it's just a bill to save face for OBAMA!! I agree that there is "some" good here, but I can't say with a straight face that this is REAL REFORM!

And I TRULY DO WISH, within my soul that this IS JUST A START! Of course, THIS will have to pass first! The work has just begun, we can't go back and start over, that much I KNOW... but "we the people" still need to be RELENTLESS in our efforts to have REAL HCR!!!

It's been said many times that watching the "sausage making" in Congress is a nasty process, but never have I seen it NASTIER! At this very moment, it must go forward if only to "spit" in the face of the Repukes who have done EVERYTHING in their power to MISLEAD this country!

Having said that, there have been many Democrats who have MIS-LEAD their own BASE, and the WH seems to have been "complicit" in misleading so many of us who THOUGHT we bought something much different!! And we did contribute MANY hard earned dollars to get this man elected. Not to mention the countless hours of very hard work done by millions who pounded the pavements and did what was asked of us to help him reach his place in history! And I'm NOT talking about the "history" of him being a person of color, just the HISTORY that he was elected President like those before him!

Only TIME will tell! But just thinking NAFTA makes me feel uneasy!

PRESSURE must be applied to staunch the blood seeping from the wound!!

7. "it's just a bill to save face for OBAMA!!" Bullseye!
What ticks me off is that bill is an even bigger ripoff of all our money than the bankster bailout was! :grr:

8. Great Sig Line... And Truth Be Told... I Didn't WANT To Make The Comments
I did, but I'm NOT going to be one who will stand by and say YEE-HAA, when actually I think there are people out there who are going HAA-HAA!

Who won?? I will say that I don't think many Repukes are very happy right now, but I'm betting they are going to try to get as much mileage out of this as possible. And one thing that I've seen "ad nauseum" is just how they "stick together" right or WRONG!

With THEIR kind of Patriotism, Benedict Arnold looks good!

Boy, I'm certainly showing MY cynicism today!! I've dug to the depths of my soul trying to figure out what has happened, and still I have TOO MANY QUESTIONS!!

My wish, and I'm sure it's the wish of so many others here, is that we can find SOME WAY to get our voices heard once again! But for now, I won't be betting on this wish!

I've stuck to my word of not uttering the words "I HOPE" for more years than I can remember! I had thought I would start using it again after '08, but haven't been able to yet! I have even surprised myself how I've learned to "skirt" around the word in so many different ways! HOPE isn't something that I feel. I use WISH, but many wishes are only that... wishes!
